The Provinces of Anstarra

We have painted the Anstarra game world with "broad brush strokes" so that players can fill in the details of the world as they create their character backgrounds. For example, if you would like your character to be a rugged mountain guide from a snowy village in Nygaard, you can just make up a village name that fits (see below) and we will add it to the world.

Currently, all player characters are human. But if you wish to contribute something different to the world, please contact the game staff and we'll see what we can do.

The eight provinces of Anstarra each have their own culture, roughly corresponding to regions of Medieval Europe. When playing a character from one of these regions, you may wish to choose a name that fits the region:

Azgharad is a separate kingdom, across the sea from Anstarra, with notably warmer and drier weather. It may be a suitable birthplace for characters that would seem quite foreign to Anstarrans, such as those from an Arabian or North African culture.

There has been a war between Anstarra and Azgharad for over 100 years, but that war has at times taken a backseat to the conflicts between the individual Anstarran provinces.
